Career Exploration 101

It was rainy and England spring when I went to an interview at EasyJet in Luton Airport last week.  I loved it.  There was a series of teamwork activities, observations, interviews, and some waiting and conversations with other candidates.  We, the finalists, numbered about twenty-five.  I ended up talking to several young women from around Luton, and a guy who was from around there too, but was originally from Connecticut.

Now there are a boatload of exams and clearances to pass and obtain:  Background, references, medical, psychological, and medical again.  I was initially drawn to work with EasyJet because I use them a lot over here; they’re like the Southwest Airlines of Europe.  After attending this assessment day, I like them even more.  Such an authentically friendly and warm group of people.  The lunch room was lively with conversation and smiles amongst colleagues.

It’s always been a dream of mine to be a flight attendant.  On verra…
