I learned how to sew as a fourth-grader when I was in 4-H. Mostly 4-H is associated with livestock, but I lived in the suburbs so I did things like, sewing, cooking and stained glass. The first thing I’ve sewed since then, was to alter a little, grey sweatsuit into “Tigah” for Isaac’s Halloween costume. Yesterday I took Bea’s way-too-small-for-her Batman costume, of which the seams were coming apart, and merged it with some Batman pajamas I found at Kohl’s. Marvy.

I realized I’m never going to be really good at any one thing, but I’ll be good-enough-to-get-the-job-done about a lot of things.
